extension of religious theory and the legitimacy of faith itself

Organized religion often limits personal interpretations. True spiritual growth connects deeply with individual beliefs. Yet, many religious systems stifle this uniqueness. This links philosophy to the roots of religion, both aiming to understand faith and morality.

As I think about these complexities, my original questions remain partly unanswered. What is the real purpose of religion? Does it help or harm society? And how can we measure someone's genuine faith? My energy wanes, as my eyelids grow heavy from the boredom of SAT prep (currently multitasking). I realize how fortunate we are today to freely question and reshape our beliefs. Historically, this freedom was rare. Mary Wollstonecraft was shunned by Puritan society and people basically called her a crazy woman! Christ, Jesus was pinned to a cross and left to hang dry until his death! Philosophy and faith -- the foundations of religion-- remains essential, enhancing our grasp of faith, morality, and life's intricacies. Religion itself? Not so much in my humble opinion.
